ABOUT

Hannah Blanton

Hannah Blanton has an immense appreciation of and connection to art and artists.

Her career in art began 14 years ago when she chaired the Carolina Art Soiree. It would be a four year commitment while raising money for the International Guillain-Barre Foundation and Charlotte's Artworks 945 program at Urban Ministry Center. Hannah founded Grier’s Gallery, an art program led by volunteer artists for patients at Novant Hemby Children’s Hospital.

In 2013, she founded and opened Sozo Gallery, a visionary access point in the Southeast that brought fresh, original artwork by emerging and established talent from around the world to Charlotte collectors.

Hannah co-founded About Face CLT, a project that uses photography, cinematography, and community art projects to bring awareness to social justice issues and to encourage connection and compassion to cultivate a better community. She currently serves on the art advisory committee at The Brooklyn Collective and is a board member of The Oaklawn Cemetery/ Mausoleum.

She is a firm believer in the power of evolving, making intimate connections, and surrounding yourself with community. Hannah believes that connection and relationship building are essential now more than ever.

She will be the first to warn you that she has an extremely hard time ending a good conversation.

A NOTE FROM HANNAH

Living with art is such a special experience. I want someone to walk into your home or down the halls of your office, and I want the walls to speak for you. My hope is that someone sees artwork that you are passionate about, curious about, confused about, inspired by.

I want your art to start a continuous conversation not only with you, but also for the people you invite into your space.

We each experience many stages and seasons of life. It’s interesting to look at the beginning of your collection and say to yourself, “Oh yes, that’s what I was experiencing at that time,” or “That artist and their message really touched me, and that’s what I believe in, and that’s why I bought this piece.” Art has the power to tell a story or start a conversation, at any moment. That’s what makes it so timeless and personal.

This process becomes about your relationship with art. That relationship lasts a lifetime.

Thank you for inviting me into that relationship with you.
